OHMIGOSH COLDPLAY!!
i was getting so excited about going to coldplay, but you know just wanted to play it cool so was like yeah, i'm going to coldplay, it'll be sweet and just going about the day doing the work i needed to do and getting things done, but really my mind was somewhere else...
i was late leaving early (?? not quite an oxymoron) but i did manage to get out of the office before 630pm which in itself is quite amazing! was too excited to eat so just grabbed a pretzel and smoothie and boarded the train to the stadium. it was weird heading out to the airport and not actually flying anywhere... which made me a little sad as i'm really wanting to go away ( sanya baby!!) but that time will come... it was coldplay for the night. the airport express was so crowded with so many people everywhere, just hanging waiting for friends... i guess i was naive in thinking it'll be a pretty quiet night out, but everyone was going as well! we got there and of course we were late! 8:05 it was suppose to start at 8pm... but that was very unlikely... the asiaexpo place was crazy! so many people milling around, and a lot of expats... it kinda felt like the sevens, but not and at the same time like a huge stadium event. i don't even know how many people can fit into asiaexpo, but i imagine it's A LOT.
it was just funny texting people, like tammy+nat, cherie, may, rocky, dan, mari... getting them psyched up and yourself, and bumping into random people there like a friend's sister, and i couldn't remember her name until way later, and it's sarah, same as my sister - doh! and pippa, another friend's sister... i met her when she was 3, she's now 14! i felt old... walking into the bowl section was crazy, it felt like we were in some boxing arena going in to watch a match... cold cement floors, huge long flat section with a stage and elevated seating around. anyway sat down and realised dan was two rows behind us! the music they were playing while we waited was actually pretty good ha...
and THEN IT STARTED!! by that time it was nearly 9... well first, the music changed, the house lights went off and everyone got really excited and stood on their chairs or rushed forward to 'get' closer... ha... they weren't even on stage yet! regardless, it was rather frustrating as i really couldn't see anything :( and not because i'm little, just because the venue was so long that you literally couldn't see the stage, and it wasn't raised up or anything... and on top of that people standing on their chairs arghhhh... so was rather put out. someone even mentioned to just pretend you're listening to them on cd?!?! yeah right
i actually said to someone "DON'T STAND THERE!" ahhh he was standing right in front of me!!! so annoying! the guys we were with were nice and let me stand by the aisle hoping that i'd see better... i could... only see one guitarist... nice. ended up standing on the back of a chair, supported by a friend so i didn't fall over. the rest of the night was sooo sweet... loved it!! they are really good live and they did songs from all albums which was great, as i absolutely love parachutes and rush of blood, ahh good memories. one of the best songs was scientist as he got everyone singing along after him! thanks dan for grabbing me and telling me that chris martin was right behind us - he came all the way down from the stage to the opposite side which was near us. honestly i really wouldn't have noticed!! also managed to get some good vids so that's cool, tho for some reason they won't download off my camera?? weird..
sigh it was a good night... tho by the time it ended was hungry as

1, 2, 3 take foto
ohh loved the boat trip... it was such a nice day, and well it was HOT!! tho now it feels like it was soooo long ago. boat trips are something you have to do in HK and it's quite amazing going through the harbour and then out to the ocean, passing the islands and mountains, it's really beautiful, a totally different side of HK.
after 180, went to sam's bday and everyone had been in the sun that day and was pretty knackered, but a bqq on the roof and mooching was perfect way to finish the day...
forward to the next weekend, we had our 180 F&B team hang out, which was really fun and of course there was so much food haha
and it was neena's bday and we got her these cute cushion stools and it was a bit of a laugh carrying them around town.
we had dinner at dan ryans the old hang out from school days and watched the world cup... both games... ahhhh
after getting home at 530am we went to ocean park that day! it was soo cool though, despite it being so HOT and us being really tired... the last time i had been was expedition day at kgv... over 10 years ago. funny thing i remembered the dragon being really scary and so was freaking out a bit.. ok A LOT but after i was like, was that IT?!?! pretty lame. hah the funniest was the newer ride, abyss and we were like, it's not scary at all... then when we got on it, it actually was really really high so we started freakin out a bit and laughing and screaming. which totally helps! hah the jellyfish were pretty cool
hmm well that was just last week... there's more to come, i'm tired, excited and managing to get through the day with a little help - love it!
